Why You Should Immunize Your Child
If you don't know which diseases we vaccinate against and why we vaccinate against them, look up the diseases and see what they look like at www.vaccineinformation.org.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that even though the occurrence of some diseases today is minimal, if the disease has not been eliminated, it is still important to be vaccinated against it. Read more at CDC.gov.

Merck vaccine recall on December 12, 2007
- If you have not been notified by us by 12/13/07, you are not at risk.
- Merck has recalled some lots of vaccine due to potential contamination with bacteria. We have obtained the lot numbers and have notified the patients who could be at risk. Detailed information can be obtained on the CDC website.
Immunizations and Mercury
The mercury in vaccines is called thimerosal. All the vaccines we have given in the office for the last few years are thimerosal-free. Also, did you know that there is a baseline amount of mercury found in the general, unvaccinated population?
- For more information on mercury in the environment and to read studies about the effects of mercury in our bodies, check out CDC's page on Mercury and Vaccines.
